Digital Preservation
Digital Preservation Policy
Applied Health Research, Innovation & Education (AHRIE) recognizes the importance of preserving its published scientific content over the long term and keeping it available to the academic community, including in the event of technological changes or interruptions to the journal website.
LOCKSS- and CLOCKSS-Compatible Manifests
AHRIE enables the LOCKSS- and CLOCKSS-compatible publisher manifests available through Open Journal Systems (OJS). These manifests allow participating libraries and authorized systems to identify and collect published content when the journal has been formally included in the corresponding service.
The availability of these manifests represents a technical readiness measure. It does not, by itself, mean that the journal’s content has been ingested, preserved, or certified by the LOCKSS or CLOCKSS networks.
Additional Preservation Services
The journal will progressively evaluate and implement additional digital preservation services that are officially compatible with its version of OJS and for which AHRIE meets the applicable technical and editorial requirements.
AHRIE’s effective inclusion in any preservation network or service will be announced publicly on this page once it has been confirmed.
Content Covered by Preservation
Depending on the capabilities of the system and preservation service used, the preservation strategy will cover published articles, supplementary files, descriptive metadata, identifiers, licensing information, and corrections or updates associated with the published version.
Integrity and Updating
AHRIE will seek to use widely recognized formats and maintain the integrity, authenticity, and traceability of its digital content.
Corrections, retractions, or other post-publication changes will be managed in accordance with the journal’s editorial policies and will remain linked to the corresponding version of record.
Policy Review
This policy will be reviewed whenever a new preservation service is incorporated, the journal’s technological infrastructure changes, or applicable requirements are updated.
AHRIE will report only those preservation mechanisms that have been effectively enabled or confirmed.
