Publication Fees and Charges
AHRIE (Applied Health Research, Innovation & Education) maintains a transparent policy concerning fees and charges associated with the editorial process.
Current policy
During its launch stage, AHRIE charges no fees to authors.
The current amounts are:
• Manuscript submission fee: USD 0.
• Editorial assessment fee: USD 0.
• Peer-review fee: USD 0.
• Article processing charge (APC): USD 0.
• Editing and production fee: USD 0.
• Publication fee: USD 0.
• Page charge: USD 0.
• Charge for color figures or images: USD 0.
• Supplementary-file charge: USD 0.
This policy applies to every article type accepted by the journal and does not depend on manuscript language, country of origin, institutional affiliation, subject area, or editorial decision.
No mandatory payments
Authors are not required to make any payment to:
• submit a manuscript;
• participate in peer review;
• receive an editorial decision;
• revise or resubmit a manuscript;
• publish an accepted article;
• make the article openly accessible;
• obtain identifiers normally provided by the journal.
There are no hidden charges or mandatory payments disclosed only after acceptance.
Editorial independence
Editorial decisions are completely independent of financial considerations.
The ability or willingness of an individual, institution, or funder to make payments, donations, or contributions will not influence:
• the initial assessment;
• reviewer selection;
• the content of peer-review reports;
• the decision to accept, request revisions, or reject;
• the speed or priority of editorial processing;
• the publication, correction, or retraction of an article.
Editors and reviewers will not receive payments from authors to evaluate or favor manuscripts.
Journal funding
During the launch stage, AHRIE’s editorial, technological, and administrative costs will be supported by Empresa de Capacitación Internacional ECI S.C., the journal’s publisher, and by other legitimate sources of support that will be transparently disclosed when applicable.
Funding or sponsorship sources will have no authority over scientific and editorial decisions.
External services selected by authors
Authors may voluntarily obtain external services, such as translation, professional language editing, or graphic design, at their own expense when they consider them necessary.
AHRIE:
• does not require authors to use specific providers;
• does not make evaluation or acceptance conditional upon using these services;
• does not receive payments for services contracted directly by authors;
• does not guarantee the quality of external providers not contracted by the journal.
Use of an external service does not guarantee manuscript acceptance.
Third-party material
Any costs associated with obtaining permission to reproduce third-party material are the responsibility of the authors or their institutions. These expenses are not AHRIE editorial charges.
Future changes
If AHRIE introduces any charge in the future, the new policy must be clearly published on the journal website before it takes effect.
The information must specify:
• the purpose of the charge;
• the amount and currency;
• applicable taxes, if any;
• when the payment obligation arises;
• the article types affected;
• waiver, discount, or financial-assistance policies;
• refund conditions, when applicable.
No change will be applied retroactively. Manuscripts submitted while the published policy states USD 0 will retain that status throughout editorial processing and publication, even if fees subsequently change.
Authors will be informed before making any submission subject to a new charge.
Waivers and discounts
While all charges remain USD 0, authors do not need to request a waiver or discount.
If charges are introduced in the future, waiver and discount requests will be evaluated separately from the editorial process and will not be disclosed to reviewers. Approval or denial will not influence the scientific decision.
Policy updates
The version displayed on the AHRIE website will be the current policy. The date of any amendment must be recorded to preserve transparency.
